What to say when you talk to camera: simple structures
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerUse a simple structure: Hook, Point, Example, Takeaway. Or Problem, Mistake, Fix. Write three bullet points, not a script, and say the most interesting thing first.
Hook, Point, Example, Takeaway
Grab attention, make one point, prove it with an example, end with what to do.
Problem, Mistake, Fix
Name a problem viewers have, the common mistake, then the fix.
Story structure
Before, what happened, after, and what you learned.
Bullets, not scripts
Scripts sound read. Three bullets keep you on track and natural. A teleprompter by the lens helps if you need more.
Questions
How long should each take be?
One point per take is easiest to film and edit.
