How to film a get-ready-with-me video on your own
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerProp the phone at eye level near a window, frame from head to mid-chest with space to move, keep music low or in headphones so your voice is clear, and film in short chunks you can cut together.
Set-up
- Phone at eye level, about an arm and a half away.
- Window light in front of you.
- Products within reach but out of the frame edge.
Sound
Music playing out loud gets into your voice track. Keep it quiet, or listen in headphones and add music later if you have the rights.
Film in chunks
Stop between steps. Short clips are easier to cut and you won't lose a whole take to one mistake.
